Leonard Cohen to perform in Israel, September 24

September 8th, 2009

Twenty nine years after his last performance in Israel, legendary performer Leonard Cohen will play at the Ramat Gan Stadium on September 24. Cohen will perform in Israel as part of his European world tour, under the banner “Reconciliation, Tolerance and Peace.” Six band members and three back-up singers will accompany him for the show, which is expected to last three yours and include his greatest hits, including “Suzanne,” “Dance Me to the End of Love,” “Hallelujah,” “Chelsea Hotel,” “So Long, Marianne,” and many others. No special effects are expected (contrary to Madonna’s recent show in Tel Aviv… At best Leonard Cohen give a tip of the hat). But you can expect an amazing, emotional and exciting show.

Leonard Cohen’s current tour began in June 2008 and was to include only twenty shows. Due to very popular demand, incredibly successful shows and the crowds’ love for the legendary singer, Cohen extended the tour to upwards of 100 performances. Thousands of tickets were sold in an hour and all shows were sold out! For the many disappointed fans who won’t be at the show, his performance in London is out on DVD, and those wanting to refresh their memories should purchase his books and music, available across the country.
