Shean Nights – Recommendation for Night Tour in Beit Shean Antiquities
September 8th, 2009The ancient city of Skitopolis, located in the Beit Shean National Park, holds a night tour and sound and light show entitled “Shean Nights” with the city walls serving as the backdrop. The show is appropriate for a family outing, just before the nights start to get too chilly.
The show depicts the history of Beit Shean, from the fifth century B.C.E., and highlights the battles, transfer of power, residents, markets and other scenes from the city. The tour leads visitors to the ancient ruins, city streets, ritual bath, huge marble columns, amphitheater used by gladiators and the beautiful mosaic floors.
The one-hour tour costs NIS 40 for adults and NIS 30 for children. Tickets should be ordered in advance.
